Junior
Dick took up trapshooting at the St. Anthony Gun Club in 1925 when
he was eight. He shot his first registered target in 1933
and the following year won the North American Junior championship
and we named him captain of our 1934 Sports Afield
All-American junior team.
In 1942 he won the
Minnesota State singles with 198 X 200 and at Vandalia, Ohio,
fired 199 X 200 to tie for the North American Clay Target title.
Junior won the state All-Around five times, the Doubles and
Diamond Badge six times.
He won the Captain
Billy Fawcett Singles and Old Dutch Handicap in 1954 and the
Singles again with 150 straight two years later. He is in
